Night Flights Consultation – Part One Decision

The Government has responded to the part one of the consultation launched on 2 December 2020 which sought views on the night flights regime at the designated airports (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted) beyond 2022, and night flights in the national context.

At this stage the Government has decided that:-

  • The night noise objective and existing restrictions will be rolled over for a period of three years rather than two as originally proposed in their consultation.
  • The implementation of a ban on QC4 rated aircraft movements, at the designated airports, during the night quota period will proceed.

Further details can be found in the decision document which is available here.
